Questions:

So I’ve completed the Google Smart Lock integration in my app successfully using this guide:
Google Smart Lock – Android Integration Flow

But how can the user save multiple accounts for the same app? It seems that this functionality is available only in Chrome.

In Chrome this is the behavior:

  • Login with user1 / pass1
  • Password Manager asks if I want to save this credential
  • Logout
  • Login again with user1 / pass1
  • No password Manager pop-up is shown (since the credentials are already saved)
  • Logout
  • Login with user2 / pass2
  • Password Manager asks if I want to save this credential

So it seems that the “Chrome version of Smart Lock / Password Manager” can detect when we are entering an account that hasn’t been saved before.

Is this available on Android? do I have to build the logic on my own?
