Questions:

I’m using color code based on some percentage logic in the GridView. But while exporting to Excel I dont know how to maintain this color code in the Excel. Please guide

Below is the code for RowDataBound

protected void Grd_QADetails_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
    {
        if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
        {
            var dataRowView = e.Row.DataItem as DataRowView;
            DataRow row = dataRowView.Row;

            var Current = (row["Current Month Percentage"] as double?) ?? null;

            double? Yellow = (double?)Convert.ToDouble(row["Yellow"]);
            double? Green = (double?)Convert.ToDouble(row["Green"]);

            if (Current != null)
            {
                if (Current >= Green)
                    e.Row.Cells[6].BackColor = Color.Green;

                if (Current >= Yellow && Current < Green)
                    e.Row.Cells[6].BackColor = Color.Yellow;

                if (Current < Yellow)
                    e.Row.Cells[6].BackColor = Color.Red;
            }
        }
    }

Below is the code for Export to Excel

private void ExportthroughWeb(DataTable dt, string FileName)
    {
        try
        {
            if (dt.Rows.Count > 0)
            {
                string filename = FileName + ".xls";

                using (System.IO.StringWriter tw = new System.IO.StringWriter())
                {
                    System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter hw = new System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter(tw);
                    DataGrid dgGrid = new DataGrid();
                    dgGrid.DataSource = dt;
                    dgGrid.DataBind();

                    //Get the HTML for the control.
                    dgGrid.RenderControl(hw);
                    //Write the HTML back to the browser.

                    Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel";
                    Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + filename + "");
                    this.EnableViewState = false;

                    Response.Write("<meta http-equiv=Content-Type content=\"text/html; charset=utf-8\">" + Environment.NewLine);
                    Response.Write(tw.ToString());

                    Response.Write("</body>");
                    Response.Write("</html>");

                    Response.End();
                }
            }
        }
How to&Answers:

You need to attach an event handler for RowDataBound

Please modify your code as follows:

private void ExportthroughWeb(DataTable dt, string FileName)
    {
        try
        {
            if (dt.Rows.Count > 0)
            {
                string filename = FileName + ".xls";

                using (System.IO.StringWriter tw = new System.IO.StringWriter())
                {
                    System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter hw = new System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter(tw);
                    GridView dgGrid = new GridView();
                    dgGrid.DataSource = dt;
                    dgGrid.RowDataBound += new GridViewRowEventHandler(Grd_QADetails_RowDataBound);
                    dgGrid.DataBind();

                    //Get the HTML for the control.
                    dgGrid.RenderControl(hw);
                    //Write the HTML back to the browser.

                    Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel";
                    Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + filename + "");
                    this.EnableViewState = false;

                    Response.Write("<meta http-equiv=Content-Type content=\"text/html; charset=utf-8\">" + Environment.NewLine);
                    Response.Write(tw.ToString());

                    Response.Write("</body>");
                    Response.Write("</html>");

                    Response.End();
                }
            }

Hope this helps..
